A Christmas Journey

Prolog

Sein Name ist Lys, er ist ein Pinguin.

Eine lange Reise, kein Ende in Sicht.

Aber Lys liebt es zu reisen, möchte alles sehen.

Eines Tages stand er auf einen großen Eisberg.

Er schaute in die Ferne als ein Lachen erklang.

HOHOHO!

Ein Mann in eine fliegenden Schlitten,

angezogen von einen Rentier.

His name is Lys, he is a penguin.

A long journey, no end in sight.

But Lys loves traveling, wants to see it all.

One day, he stands on a great Icemountain.

Watching the horizon, as laughing sounds.

HOHOHO!

A man in a flying skid,

moved by reindeer.

"Ja, wer bist denn Du? So alleine hier auf meinen Berg." fragte der Mann.

"Ich bin Lys und wer bist Du?" sagte Lys.

"Um das herauszufinden, musst Du etwas tun."

"Und was wäre das?"

"Du musst durch die 24 Türen gehen, dann wirst Du es verstehen."

Der Mann lachte erneut und flog mit seinen Rentierschlitten davon.

Vor Lys tauchte eine Tür und Lys war klar, eine neue Reise hatte begonnen.

"Yes, who are you? Alone on my Mountain." asked the man.

"I`am Lys, but who are you?" said Lys.

"To find out, who i`am, you have something to do."

"And what have i got to do?"

"You have to go through the 24 Doors, then you will understand."

Again the man laughed and flys with his reindeer skid away.

In front of Lys a door aproaches und lys was sure, that a new journey has began.

A cute Penguin Dance

Hallo. :-)

Ja, mich  gibt es noch,

allerdings bin ich  zur Zeit krank.

Dieser ganze Hickhack mit der Heizung

hat mir ene saftige Erkältung beschert.

Daher wird Lys Reise noch nicht

weiter gehen,

aber ich habe für Euch

etwas ganz besonderes.

Ich, der Tierpate. Me, the adopter of Lys.

Pinguin Lys macht heute Pause

und so nutze ich die Gelegenheit

mich selber vorzustellen.

Ich bin Oliver, Lys Tierpate.

Ich wollte schon immer eine Patenschaft

übernehmen, um helfen zu können,

wusste aber nicht was.

Letztes Jahr im Juni besuchte

ich wieder den Tiergarten in Wien

und saß auf einer Treppe,

neben den Pinguingehege.

Da schwamm er vor mir her

und die Idee war geboren.

Penguin Lys take a break today,

so i use the chance to

introduce myself.

I`m Oliver, I adopted Lys.

I always wanted to adopt,

to get a chance to help,

but i didn`t know what.

Last year in June i visited

the Vienna zoo again

and i was sitting on stairs

next to the penguin Lair,

he was swimming in front of me

and the idea was born.

Die Pinguine haben keine Namen, aber ich habe ihn Lys genannt

und erkenne ihn am roten Band des linken flügels immer wieder.

The Penguins there have no Name, but i gave him the Name Lys

and i found him again, because of the red Band on the left Wing.

Da bin ich nun, bei meinen allerersten Besuch bei den Pinguinen.

Mein erster Gedanke:

Federn? Das fühlt sich wie Leder an.

My first Thought:

Feather? That feels like leather.

Es kostet Geld, ja, aber es gibt einen soviel

und es ist ein schönes Gefühl helfen zu können.

Als Kind mochte ich Pinguine schon sehr

und mein Traum wurde wahr.

It cost money, yes, but it gives you so much

and it is a good feeling to help. 

As a child i loved penguins

and my dream come true.

An dieser Stelle ein schönes Dankeschön

an den Tiergarten Schönbrunn,

der diesen Traum erüllte.
